Dr. Anika Keinz studied European Ethnology and Art History at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin and received her Ph.D. in European Ethnology at Humboldt-University Berlin in 2007. Previously she was Juniorprofessor of Comparative Social and Cultural Anthropology of late-modern Societies at European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Her research interests focus on inequality studies, bodies and discourses of (dis-) belonging, gender studies, europeanization, biography and queer anthropology.
Among other topics, she taught classes on critical migration studies, dis-/belonging, gender politics and citizenship at Humboldt-University, Warsaw University and European University Viadrina and conducted summer schools for Ph.D. candidates both at the University of Minnesota and European University Viadrina on new dynamics of inclusion and exclusion across Europe and North America.

Beate Binder is Professor of European Ethnology and Gender Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin, and currently, together with Sabine Hess, spokesperson for the Commission for Women's and Gender Studies in the dgv. Her research focuses on the anthropology of the political, legal anthropology, urban anthropology, and (the history of) feminist cultural anthropology/queer theory.

Madina Tlostanova is decolonial thinker and writer, professor of postcolonial feminisms at Linköping University (Sweden). She has authored over 180 articles and book chapters, 11 monographs and three novels translated into many languages. Her interests focus on decolonial thought, particularly in its aesthetic, existential and epistemic manifestations, indigenous feminisms and feminisms of the Global South, the postsoviet/postcolonial human condition, fiction and art. Her most recent books include What Does it Mean to be Post-Soviet? Decolonial Art from the Ruins of the Soviet Empire (Duke University Press, 2018), A new Political Imagination, Making the Case (co-authored with Tony Fry, Routledge, 2020) and a forthcoming collection Postcolonial and Postsocialist Dialogues, Intersections, Opacities, co-edited with Redi Koobak and Suruchi Thapar-Björkert (Routledge, 2021).

Andrea Pető is Professor in the Department of Gender Studies at Central European University, Vienna, Austria and a Doctor of Science of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Her works on gender, politics, Holocaust and war have been translated into 23 languages. In 2018 she was awarded the 2018 All European Academies (ALLEA) Madame de Staël Prize for Cultural Values. She is Doctor Honoris Causa of Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden.

Betül Yarar is a professor and works as a senior researcher at the University of Bremen. Previously, she has conducted various research projects on different aspects of gender and body politics. The most recent is the one she conducted as a Phillipp Schwartz Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the same university entitled "Neoliberal-neoconservative biopolitics of the AKP and counter-strategies of the women's movement(s) in Turkey". She has also given courses on gender, violence and body politics in different countries. In relation to her experience as an exile scholar, she has been engaged in exile studies and studies on emigrated scholars. Her recent publications are "Neoliberal-neoconservative feminism(s) in Turkey: politics of female bodies/subjectivities and the Justice and Development Party's turn to authoritarianism", published in New Perspectives on Turkey, 30. September 2020, and "Disciplining pious female bodies/sexualities in the authoritarian times of Turkey: An analysis of public moral discourses on the Süslümans" published in Politics of the Female Body in Contemporary Turkey: Reproduction, Maternity, Sexuality (I.B. TAURIS, 2021), a book she co-edited with other authors.

Prof. Dr. Sabine Hess is a full professor of Cultural Anthropology/European Ethnology at the University of Göttingen since 2011. She specializes in migration and border studies with a specific interest in a gendered analyses of policies and practices. She is a founding member of the European interdisciplinary “Network on critical migration and border studies” (kritnet) and directs the interdisciplinary “Laboratory on migration and border regime studies” at the University of Goettingen that provides space for regular discussions on theories and research in the respective fields for 18 PhD students and Postdocs. Since 2008 she is spokeswomen of the Commission for Women and Gender Studies of the dgv.
